The heart of
Byzantium
|
A walk which propose an
original discover of the site of the Grand Palace and which give the
possibility to see some unknown places that only initiated people are
familiar with.
It’s also possible to reach an imperial chapel, very well preserved to the
way of an underground passage. In this chapel were probably conserved the 22
relics stolen by the Crusaders and sold to the king of France. It’s for
those ones that the Saint Chapel of Paris has been built. It has also may
contained The Saint Shroud of Edessa (also called of Turin). You can still
see a fountain whose its waters are considered to be miraculous. In another
place of the tour, you will see the traces of the throne room where some
automatons in gold were already welcoming the visitors in the IX century.
Not far from there, the traces of the palace of Boukoleon, that impressed a
lot the Crusaders during the invasion in 1204. |
