Caravanserais

The caravanserais which are located between the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian bazaar, shows us the commercial past of Istanbul. For centuries, they were the arriving points of the products carried from the East by the caravans. Most of them are transformed into workshops after the installation of the railways, today they continue their existence as the center of handcrafts.

This excursion gives a concrete idea on the Ottoman commercial power, in the same site where the Byzantine masters were also working.
