The
Dolmabahçe palace illustrates good enough the mind of the imperial family in the half of
the XIVth century.
The palace was built by the order of Abdül Mecit I and was used as imperial residence of
the Ottoman sultans for almost all the period of their kingdom. The architects of this
palace were Gabaret and Nikogos Balyan.
The
immense palace with 285 rooms has a very high central part within the throne and the main stairs which has the slopes
made of Baccarat crystal.
The
majority of the rooms are equipped with the original furniture of their period.
